Yacht building in Britain takes another step forward with the historic agreement between GT Yachts and MonsterCAM to deliver precision cut moulds for the GT35. Work has now started on milling the plugs and moulds for the new performance cruiser designed by Stephen Jones and the first hull will be delivered to Windboats in Norfolk later this summer for completion. Windboats will be moulding the deck themselves.
“It’s an amazing feeling to finally see something physical coming together after the years of preparation,” says GT Yachts MD Conrad Cockburn (right, with MonsterCAM Director Terry Stubington and Stephen Jones, far left), “and knowing that the eminently experienced team at MonsterCAM has been able to bid successfully against tough competition from both home and abroad is testament to the resilience of the UK marine industry. The marine industry in the UK has a depth of skill and experience that will enable it to weather this economic storm better than most. I’m immensely proud that GT Yachts is forming part of that commitment too.”
